Wire EDM

Wire EDM

Huron Wire EDM capabilities include the cutting of most metals to tolerances within +/- .0002”. The wire diameter used for cutting is.010”, achieving accurate tapers of up to 30°. This level of cutting precision translates into the ability to produce highly complex parts, designed with the most challenging dimensions. Wire EDM is used to cut through all types of conductive materials, from common metals such as tool steels, stainless steels and aluminums, to exotic metals such as titanium, hastaloy, copper, brass kovar, inconel, and carbide. Achievable product characteristics and configurations include intricate details, sharp corners, fine finishes (surface finishes to 10 micro-inches), thin walls, keyways, squares and hexes – all with tolerances can be held even up to .0001".
